I love these verse paintings by Sara over at Sara's Art House. This girl is NOT afraid of color. Take a peek at her home photos to see how she uses bright bold colors in every room. I love the way she uses children's books and art as decorations. She has really created a fun home for her children to express their creativity. It will be fun to see someday if they grow up to be artists!

Yeah for Spray Paint!
I found some metal trays with a not-so-cute
flower motif on them at Value Village a while
back. I knew they had some promise so I stashed
them away for later. I came across this lovely tray
in an issue of Romantic Country Magazine and
knew that I had found just the right idea.

Cute!
and useful hung up with ribbon and used as

Easy Magnets
find time to make a few cute magnets. They are
stuck to this tin cabin sign because I have a
stainless steel frig and nothing sticks to it but
cat hair!
These couldn't be any easier to make. Just get out the glue gun and attach leaves,
buttons, and magnets. I purchased the pretty velvet flowers from Maya Road. You can see if they have any left at, mayaroad.com. The yo yos, leaves, buttons, and magnets were all purchased at Joanns. You can make your own yo yos but I think they are enormously tedious so when I saw pre-mades at Joanns I snatched them up. Have a great last week of April!

Can I Buy A Vowel?
I found a whole box of hand cut letters
at an estate sale last fall. The estate people
said that they were used for Christmas and
thought they spelled something about Santa.
I found this interesting because they were all
painted a hideous yellow color, (no offense to
you yellow fans out there) not very Christmas-y.
This was the only word I liked that I could
come up with because this "a" was the only vowel
in the box.

Living Proof Live---Portland
We spent last weekend in Portland with the
Hair girls and many women from our church
at the LPM Beth Moore event. We decided to
fly (great choice) instead of riding on the bus
for 6 hours. When we landed we realized that
none of us really knew where our hotel was
located and even worse didn't know where the
event was being held! We thought we heard
someone mention the Rose Quarter so we got on
the Max and headed that direction. Thankfully
a very nice man showed us how to get tickets for
the Max!
This is a perfect example of how great cell phones
and Google Maps are because we just called Mr.
Hair back in Spokane and he gave us directions
and the hotel phone number.
We had a great time and were so blessed by
Beth's teaching. We always love her honest and real
life approach to teaching God's Word. We also loved,
loved, Travis and the worship team. I have been singing
those tunes ever since. We were so glad that Amanda
and Sara got to attend their first Beth Moore live event.
God was awsome!!

Amanda and I joined our friends, Sarah and Michelle, for a quick trip to Portland this weekend to attend a Beth Moore live event. Beth is our favorite Bible teacher and we love her and her teaching. This was an especially sweet trip for us because Amanda and Sarah had never been to see Beth live. I'll blog about the trip later because Amanda has the camera in her purse and she has gone to visit Amber tonight but I had a nice surprise waiting for me when I got home that I want to share with you. Over the years my sweet husband has come to realize that I just love junk. Occasionally he doesn't get it but for the most part he not only gets it but he participates and I think, enjoys it! I have been the happy recipient of many wonderful "treasures" as he calls them, including a beautiful chandelier that a customer didn't want anymore, old windows, doors, and chairs and when I opened the garage door when I got home from Portland I found this amazing little white dresser just waiting for me. What a sweet guy!

Favorite Layouts
Even though scrapbooking is one of my favorite kinds of crafting of all times I don't make it a priority. I almost always put it at the bottom of the list and then I am usually too tired to think, let alone match patterned paper with photos and embellishments. I think that I look at scrapbooking as somewhat of a reward for working hard and getting everything done. Of course, seldom is everything done. I know that I will regret not making time for something that I love to do so at least once a week I will forget the dishes and laundry, the weeds and the dust and create a little happiness.

Garden Dreaming
The snow is finally gone and it's time to start dreaming about corn, beans, pumpkins, and zinnias. I can't wait to start digging in the dirt. My garden is such a sweet place to watch God do his work. We're going to do things a little different this year because the pumpkins, squash and zucchini staged an insurrection last year taking over the entire garden for themselves. We have decided that this year we need to establish ourselves as rulers of the garden from the very beginning, not letting one vine, stalk, or stem assert their power. We are moving the trouble makers to a larger area where they can grow without crowding everything and everyone out of the garden. Everyone should be happy!
